NHL/AHL/ECHL/CHL Affiliations, Kerbashian Returns & More

Kale, the early years
- The official announcement that Kale Kerbashian has re-signed with the Allen Americans was released yesterday.  Kale came to Allen half way through the season last year so will head into this season with that experience under his belt. He is one of the players that has the potential to take on a bigger scoring role on the team. Remember, just three years ago in his final year as a junior (2010-2011) he scored 88 points (37 goals & 51 assists) in 68 games. While it wasn't mentioned in the press release yesterday it was announced earlier Kale will be going to training camp with the AHL Oklahoma City Barons which starts September 26th. If you have never read the in depth interview I did with Kale you can find it in the blog archives (January 26, 2013) with the not so original title "Keeping up with Kerbashian." He has an interesting back story.

- AHL camps are starting within the next week and the Americans usually have numerous players attend AHL camps. The team is working to get slots/invites for some additional players. If they are successful we should hear something in the next few days.

- I get asked about affiliations all the time so thought I would post this chart that shows all of the affiliations for each AHL team. I did not verify all of these affiliations so the chart may not be 100% accurate. It does show the Americans still have an affiliation with the Texas Stars (at least on paper). The team is working to establish another AHL affiliation.
