- The Sharks trimmed 14 players yesterday and all 14 players were assigned to the San Jose Barracuda (AHL). This list is significant as it is most likely from this group Allen will be assigned players at the end of the AHL camp.

- Aaron Dell played last night (came in halfway through the second period) in the San Jose Sharks pre-season game as they lost to the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 in overtime. Congrats to Aaron as he reached another milestone on his way to the NHL. According to the hockey reporters in San Jose it is most likely Aaron will start the season with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) along with goalie Troy Groesnick. If that is the case it would leave Joel Rumpel as the goalie most likely to be assigned to Allen. This is all guess work at this point as there are many more NHL & AHL training camp days left and injuries and performance will certainly play a role.
- Spencer Asuchak will be playing tonight as the St. Louis Blues begin their preseason with split squad games against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Spencer will be with the group playing in St. Louis. Another deserving player taking a big step on his journey to the NHL. Congrats Spencer.
- Look for lots of movement, signings, and trades in the ECHL in the next ten days and here is the reason. As NHL & AHL teams make cuts from their rosters many players with AHL experience will be looking for jobs. ECHL coaches will be able to upgrade their rosters with players that are better and less costly than players they have already signed.
- Another Allen player announcement takes place tomorrow night at Abuelo's in Plano. It starts at 7:05 and fans are invited to attend. If you want to talk some Allen Americans hockey stop by. There are other announcements that may also happen this week. Stay tuned.

Well I don't like fighting so I hope we don't have much of it. I saw the Stingrays got Trevor Gillies who in my opinion should not be playing hockey.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard anything about Jack Combs, is he in an AHL tryout somewhere?
