Breaking News: Playoff MVP Brian McMillin Returns To Allen

Brian McMillin is Back!
Bad news for Brian and Wendy McMillin has turned into great news for the Allen Americans as the two time CHL champion and 2013 Playoff MVP will be returning to Allen for the 2014-2015 season.

After back to back championships with Allen, Brian was recruited by a team in The Netherlands (Eindhoven) and while he loved playing for the Americans it was an opportunity to play hockey and experience another part of the world while he and Wendy are still young.

The Eredivisie as it is known in The Netherlands was to be a six team league this year but has recently been rocked by the loss of a couple of teams taking it down to just four teams and that was not seen as a viable option heading forward.

Here is what Brian had to say about his return to Allen, "Although Wendy and I are disappointed we won't be getting to experience Europe, we couldn't be more excited and grateful to be returning (again!) to Allen. It really has become a second home to us and is hands down the best place to play in North America. It looks like coach Martinson has put together another contender and I can't wait to start our quest for a three-peat."

With McMillin's return he will become the longest tenured player on the team having first joined the Americans in year two (2010-2011). He has played in 193 regular season games (which ranks him third all time in games played) and scored 120 points (51 goals 69 assists). He has appeared in 41 playoff games for Allen and has scored 31 points (15 goals 16 assists) including his playoff MVP performance during Allen's first championship (2012-2013) when he had 20 points (12 goals 8 assists) in nineteen games.

Often referred to as a "glue guy" on the team by coach Martinson this it what he had to say about about McMillin's return. "Brian will help our overall team defensively. He was one of our top defensive players last year and will help at both ends of the rink. He is a leader by example. We will have a lot of new forwards this year. Having Brian makes my job easier as he understands all of our systems and will help our new players make the transition."

Welcome back to Allen Brian and Wendy!
