18 Game Challenge Update:
- 10th game in the books
- Last game: 6-2 home loss to Idaho
- Next game: At Kansas City on Friday
- Record: 1-8-1-0
- Point Percentage: .150
I had a question at the game last night about the 18 game challenge. It is the name I gave to a group of games starting on December 13 and running through January 15 against teams with winning records. At the time I came up with the challenge Allen had won seven games but five of the wins were against Utah and Rapid City, the bottom two teams in the division. The next 18 games would be against teams with point percentages ranging from .700 to .519 and would determine Allen's fate for the season. The 18 game challenge hasn't gone well for the Americans thus far and the final eight games won't be easy to get things turned around. Here are the remaining eight games including the opponents point percentage:
- Kansas City - .700 (2 away)
- Wichita - .613 (1 home, 3 away)
- Tulsa - .617 (1 home, 1 away)
- Allen lost to Idaho last night 6-2 in similar ways the Americans have been losing recently. Here are few examples taken from the game preview blog yesterday with the results from the game last night.
- Scoring first will be important - Idaho scored first to improve its record when scoring first to 9-1-2-0.
- Don't play from behind - Idaho led 1-0 after the first period to improve its record with a first period lead to a perfect 7-0-0-0.
- The game tonight will likely be decided in the second period - Idaho outscored Allen 4-2 in the second period.
- Don't play from behind - Idaho led 5-2 after the second period to improve its record with a second period lead to 12-0-0-0.
- Win the special teams battle - Allen was 0-2 on the power play and to make matters worse the power play unit gave up a shorthanded goal.
- Don't let former Allen players beat you. Hank Crone was held to just one assist but Matt Register had a shorthanded goal, an assist and was +4. He was named the #2 star of the game.
- Allen and Idaho are both at the bottom of the league in shots allowed, so you might see a lot of shots and goals in the game tonight. The teams combined for 77 shots and eight goals. Unfortunately Idaho had 41 of the shots and six of the goals.
- Idaho scored the first and only goal of the opening period at the 11:20 mark, but Allen fought back in the second period scoring two goals in just over three minutes. Nolan Orzeck scored his second goal of the season at 6:17 and Brian Chambers scored his second of the season and first for the Americans at the 9:36 mark. Allen had a 2-1 lead midway through the second period, had a 13-4 shot advantage and had the best of the play and then the roof caved in. Idaho scored four unanswered goals in three and a half minutes to take a 5-2 lead and the game was over. Yes, there were some bad bounces and fluky plays but there were also turnovers and a shorthanded goal, but good teams make their own luck. The third period was scoreless until Allen pulled goalie Anson Thornton, who had relieved starter Luke Richardson after the four goal outburst by Idaho in the second period, with 4:14 left in the game. The Steelheads added an empty net goal to make the final score 6-2. The Americans have now lost 12 of the last 13 games.

POST GAME COMMENTS
- Coach Adams brought along Brian Chambers to the post game press conference with the season ticket members. Here is what they had to say to the questions and comments form the STMs:
"Three minutes of the second period has been our downfall in the last few games. I couldn't have been happier how we were playing in the second period until they scored. We scored into our own net which was frustrating, made some dumb mistakes and its the game.".....Adams
"We had shift after shift of constant pressure which led to Chambers goal.".....Adams
"Our power play had a couple of good looks, but then gave up a shorthanded goal which is very frustrating. You can see how dominate we were in the first half of the second period and the challenge is when we make a mistake not to compound it.".....Adams
"Mark Duarte came here to get opportunities at the next level and I will never hold guys back when we get a request to loan a player. He certainly deserves the opportunity. Mark played tonight and will also play on Thursday for Cleveland.".....Adams
"We have gotten more physical by adding Cole Fraser and Nick Isaacson to the lineup.".....Adams
"On my goal I went to the net and Hardie made a great play from the corner, shooting the puck at the net and I was lucky enough to tap it in. I thought at that time we would keep pounding them. A couple of unlucky bounces turned the game and it became a 5-2 game.".....Chambers
"The game was pretty even the whole 60 minutes. If we can play our next game like we played the first half of the second period we will have a better result.".....Chambers
"As players, we can definitely improve on not getting down on the bench when things don't go our way. We have mentioned that in the locker room to try and stay up, but that goal where the goalie makes the save and then it goes off our stick into the net is hard not to be down for a little bit. We do talk about it a lot to stay up when things don't go our way.".....Chambers
"If you look at the last few games we have had as many good opportunities as the other teams, but we miss the net a a lot. We need to do a better job on the execution compared to the other team.".....Adams
"We had a few opportunities tonight to shoot off the rush and we didn't take the shot. I am pretty adamant about players needing to be more selfish and shooting off the rush. We don't have to pick corners, just get the puck on the net. Chamber's goal is a perfect example. It was a bad angle shot but it created a rebound and chaos and Chambers was able to spin and put the puck in the net. We need more second chance goals by putting more shots on the net. We are missing the net too much right now ".....Adams
OTHER COMMENTS
- Here are the ECHL standings at the beginning of the new year the last three seasons. You can see it is not too late for teams to turn around the season and make the playoffs, but it has to start right now. In 2022-23 Allen went from last place at the end of December to finish second in the division. The Americans January record was 9-4-0-0 (.692). That same season Utah made the playoffs despite having a .393 point percentage at this point. Utah's January record was 8-3-1-0 (.708). With the Mountain Division now an eight team division it is highly unlikely Rapid City, Allen or Utah will make the playoffs. These teams will have to win a minimum of two out of every three games the entire month to have a chance.

- The championships in Europe are not that far off and for players whose teams will not make the playoffs they could be looking to return to North America and the ECHL. The deadline for returning is February 17. I took a quick look at some former Allen players that are playing for teams in Europe who are in first or second place and well positioned to win a championship. Here is a list with the years they played in Allen. The European league where they are playing is in parenthesis:
- Justin Kirsch: 2012-13 (Germany3)
- Scott Conway: 2020-21 (EIHL - Great Britain)
- Steve Owre: 2020-21 (Swiss League)
- Alec Breton: 2018-20 (DEL - Germany)

"If you look at the last few games we have had as many good opportunities as the other teams, but we miss the net a a lot. We need to do a better job on the execution compared to the other team.".....Adams
ReplyDeleteHow often do we have to hear this or something similar at every press conference before there is actually execution? How are we this deep into the year and still have issues hitting the net?
Great post Barry, especially the stat comparison and conclusions at the end. Happy New Year (and Bon Voyage) to you and the Mrs.
ReplyDeleteBarry, enjoy the trip.
DeleteTed - did you visit with LJ again? Limited loge seats last night.
One quick note from the Winter Classic that applies to the Americans. Down a bunch, the blackhawks captain steps up and challenges the blues captain to a fight hoping to light a fire in his team. It didn’t result in a win, but it did set the tone.
ReplyDeleteAllen might benefit from a move like this, but they don’t have a guy wearing the “C”. Makes you wonder if the coach is in touch with some of the hockey traditions and the importance of having a tough, united team.
I agree but only a coach with experience would know this, and sadly we don’t have that.
DeleteSo I am told team leadership reads these comments so here goes - this is DFW and there are a lot of options for our entertainment dollar. Locked in this year because I had already paid when the team got torn apart. Changes need to be made or my dollars will go elsewhere next year. And I suspect I am not alone
ReplyDeleteJust hearing BJ’s rinse and repeat answers show how unqualified he is as a coach.
ReplyDeleteWhen he talks I just hear Charlie Browns teacher in my head.
Thank you Joe for picking BJ.
We attended our first game of the year last night and degradation of the on ice and off ice product was shocking. We have attended Allen games for many years having been at the first Allen home game in 2008, the championship years and beyond. We avoided attending this year because of the fiascos which occurred with the new ownership. Our thoughts on the experience last night:
ReplyDelete1) The Allen team was not competitive. The poor play and coaching was evident as they were outclassed by Idaho. In the past, you always knew the team could find a way to win. I remember some great comebacks in the past. Not this team with this coach. Ownership should be embarrassed putting a shoddy product like that on the ice.
2) Off ice experience - fewer food options, and those available were very expensive. We bought 2 beers, 2 popcorns, 2 waters for $43. That's nuts
3) Ticketmaster - we bought tickets the day of the game. The Ticketmaster app showed few available seats. Why were there so many empty seats in the arena which were showing as unavailable?
4) Ticket prices - each ticket we purchased for section 113 was $39 each. $168 for our group of 4. That's very expensive
1. Yes, the off season changes have damaged the on ice product.
Delete2. $43 is nuts. The food experience and service experience is horrid at the game. The City of Allen should send some folks to Tulsa for a game to take notes. LJ and Myles should push the city to step up and provide a better experience before any lease extension is considered.
3. Some seats are blocked out because they are STH who may have not showed, or where they were given as comps and they no showed. Ticket shenanigans for sure.
4. I'll push back a little and say the experience historically has been great. This season, less so. $168 for 4 for 3hrs of entertainment when the on ice product is solid - I'd pay that.
Agreed - the past experience has been great. Good, competitive teams and exciting games. I’ve been to some great ones. Always had faith in the team.
DeleteLast nights team was not like that. I saw a poor on ice product which will generate ongoing losses.
Barry - who did Zawyer sell their shares to?
ReplyDeletegood question..
DeleteI am told that is not public information. It is only conjecture by me based on what makes sense. The two most logical purchasers of the Zawyer shares would be REV Entertainment or Myles Jack.
DeleteSo REV could be an owner? Wow.
DeleteI have heard from multiple sources the Jack's are not happy with REV and were seeking to exit that deal. I'm not sure as to the validity, but it came from what I deem a reliable source. It could be rumor ....
It looks like Rev Entertainment has plans to own/run a new ECHL team to start in the 2026 season. I'm not sure where it will be located but the person who told me about it said that they won't be located in the DFW area.
DeleteThey are currently hiring a new GM to run the franchise. So I assume this means that the Americans will far down their food chain.
General Manager, ECHL Expansion Franchise
REV Sports Management - Manager
Ownership is damaging the value of their investment charging so much for tickets and putting a poor on ice product out there.
ReplyDeleteFor an ECHL franchise to keep "butts in seats" they need to put a good product on the ice. You need:
- Good coach who will help you win
- AHL opportunities
- good affiliation
Allen has none of those.
This will impact STH renewals which will heavily affect valuation of the Allen Americans team. Hope the owners are ready for that.
Capital injection required in 2025.....
DeletePaging all shareholders.
Who will revolt in 2025 and not pony up the extra cash?
LJ or Myles?
Zane Shartz?
Megan Hayward?
Others?
Any insider, who are the other shareholders if the list above is correct?
DeleteBarry, safe travels on what sounds like a great trip. Hope you enjoy yourselves.
ReplyDeleteWe went to our first game of the year last weekend on what was one of the more competitive losses of the season. A few observations:
- Chuck a puck, we got there about 10 minutes left in warm ups and they were sold out. Are they selling less or is the demand that high for them? We had some kids in our group that would have ejoyed it.
- On ice performance just wasn't there, I get it it's ECHL but having seen years of Allen hockey the passing was bad even for this level. The end of the third period when they were trying to get shots on goal they were missing the net by a good distance.
- In game off ice activities, they seem to have added more than I remember from previous seasons.
$10 he makes a trade that won’t be liked by anyone? Any takers? With the recent losing streak(s) a move is inevitable. To get something you have to give up something.
ReplyDeleteIf I were given the options of 1. Playing for BJ Adams or 2. Do naked karaoke on national television… hope everyone is ready to see my secret tattoo that says “Go Americans!” in 1inch block letters…
DeleteTrades are coming, he mentioned it last night................
DeleteTrading coaches, I hope. (One can dream)
DeleteYep yep & it will confirm his incompetence
DeleteYes it will.
DeleteSwing and a miss!
ReplyDeleteTrading Brodzinski??
ReplyDeleteFark.....
DeleteI don’t know who Polino is to be able to comment further. Anyone know beyond stats showing at the ECHL site?
ReplyDeleteTrading a player who has 21 points and receiving a player who has 10 points. What are the “intangibles” where this is a helpful trade for Allen? (Sorry, BJ, I don’t want platitudes as a reply)
DeleteYou know he’s just “shaping” the team. 🤣 Joe and BJ (baby joe) are a great team
Delete🤣😆🤣😆
Deletehttps://www.eliteprospects.com/player/118433/patrick-polino
DeleteKey word was “intangibles”. Anyone can look at the TANGIBLE stats at elite prospects.
DeleteLook at the stats and compare to Easton ... lower +/-
DeleteI'll get flamed for these comments, but here I go.
ReplyDeleteBJ accepted a job that he didn't know what it was going to take. Had an idea, but it was way more in-depth. Joe Ernst should not have hired BJ, not because he isn't a good guy, but because he was setting him up for a mountainous challenge.
BJ has had a lot to grasp, and one can argue I think he gets it now, understands the pressure. I personally think the role is overwhelming for a first year coach to understand and grasp the HC/GM role.
He's under immense pressure at the moment. I give him credit for not giving up. I'm not sure I agree with the comments about player revolt. I think there is some concerns, some leadership issues showed over the last couple of games, but I think some of that falls to guys that want the "C".
Let's go Red, and I hope BJ survives, it could be a great story, but he needs to win for the remainder of the season at a 0.666 clip, and right now we are polar opposite of that.
Good to see BJ posting here…
Delete🤣🤣🤣🤣 BJ has a fan
DeleteYour support of BJ shows you have as much knowledge about hockey as he does lol
Delete“BJ accepted a job that he didn't know what it was going to take. Had an idea, but it was way more in-depth.” - The fact that he didn’t know is a huge part of the problem.
DeleteWhat is going on?
ReplyDeleteSeriously?
Brodz didn't have to come back.
He did because he liked the team and fans.
Trading away another proven player.
Farmer, Smedsrud, Brodz .. the list goes on.
What are you doing to this club?
Paging Myles, are you OK with this?
DeleteFunny how Adirondack sees the value in the trade.
DeleteMaybe there were cash considerations also :-)
I mean, Allen needs to cover debt right now.
So let's get rid of another producer for ............?
DeleteThis is just another case of a productive player tired of the BS here.
DeleteOr BJ trying to trade his way out of this mess that started with not calling players from last years team until he became desperate. We have lost too many good players.
DeleteOn another note, where does the 50% of the 50/50 raffle go? I believe it previously went to the Red Lamp Foundation, but the Americans website only lists the Mylestone Foundation as an associate. The problem is, state law says the foundation has to be have been in existence for 3 years before conducting raffles and I can find no information of how long the Mylestone Foundation has been in existence. Also, the Mylestone Foundation has ZERO web presence other than on the Americans site; no Foundation website, no social media accounts, nothing. AND, a search of the IRS Charitable Organization database shows no 501(c)(3) under that name, and no EIN can be found anywhere online. So... how are they LEGALLY conducting these raffles, where does the 50% go, and what are their gross receipts? Should I just call the Attorney General and the IRS and ask them to look into it or does anyone have any information to offer? Ordinarily I wouldn't care but shady and incompetent crap on one side brings a spotlight to the other sides.
ReplyDeleteI just did - no tax-exempt with the name "Mylestone Foundation" on the website - maybe new - maybe not. Are you sure on the name? Did they provide an EIN?
DeleteIRS won't help - Texas AG best bet
This is spot on
DeleteSign up on GuideStar and look it up
ReplyDeleteWell, Dave.... Guidestar does not decide nonprofit status and does not issue EINs. I would think an accountant would know that. But, I did just look it up on Guidestar and it does not exist on there either. So, my question stands.... If they are not a nonprofit as determined by the IRS, how can they hold a raffle under Texas law?
DeleteYou really want to play?
DeleteGo to the IRS and find the tax-exempt database and search there - GuideStar is a reporting site for ALL tax -exempt entities - if they file a 990 or 990-PF (you know what that is - right smart ass?) they are on there.
Or ask for their determination letter or 1023 application if the letter hasn't been issued. You can operate for 36 months without the IRS determination letter - but you already knew that - right?
DeleteAs for your 36 month comment, maybe that is why the STATE LAW says they have to have existed for 3 years PRECEEDING the conduct of the raffle?
DeleteOf course - it is exactly the reason
DeleteActually, they don't show up on Guidestar as quickly as they do on the IRS site. The IRS site is THE only one that matters. Guidestar, Charity Navigator, and all of the others are merely locations to check their rating within those organizations. THE IRS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN DECIDE NONPROFIT STATUS, SMARTASS!
ReplyDeleteNo shit asshole
DeleteSo, since you don't think I know what I am doing, and I actually have quite as much experience with that as Dave probably has with accounting, YOU find it and paste it here.... because the IRS has nothing on the Mylestone Foundation.... You know, EIN, board members, 990s (990N, 990PF, 990), where the money comes from, where it goes, how much the BOD and employees make.... all of that stuff. So, maybe help me out and save me a call to the AGs office? So yeah, I guess I really do want to play
DeleteWhy don't you just do a state search - they are either a corporation or trust if they are a Foundation - are they a operating or non-operating foundation - you know the difference I'm sure. This is a state issue not an IRS issue. And yes idiot - the IRS determines tax-exempt status when you file a 1023 or 1024.
DeleteYou run your mouth a lot, and yes, it would be a violation of state law, but state law also says the foundation MUST be a 501c3. And I thought the only idiots on here were supporting BJ and LJ.... I merely asked a simple question, you responded with the name calling which lessens the validity of any comment you make. They are NOT a 501c3, so again, how are they LEGALLY holding raffles? Maybe you should go back to your office in the event center and do some reading before you comment
DeleteFirst insult was yours - quit being a pussy
Delete"Well, Dave.... Guidestar does not decide nonprofit status and does not issue EINs. I would think an accountant would know that"
DeleteAsshole
And I can run my fists as well as my mouth - want to see?
DeleteWow, I apologize to you, Mrs. Memphis Dave. Yes, I may have gotten a little short with him but he probably assumed that, like the rest of the people on here, I did no research before asking. Oh but I don't ask a bunch of no-names unless I can't find the answer through research. Then you jumped in all defensive like it was trying to take money out of your pocket. And yes, when it comes to people misrepresenting nonprofits and stealing money from the people who donate and support them, I admit I can be an asshole. And I am actually quite proud of that. So, what are you hiding to get so defensive so quickly?
Deleteooooh... fisticuffs! I bet the ladies are really impressed by you. Sure, I'll entertain ya. When and where bro?
Deletefolks ... this from the ever so accurate MD:
DeleteMemphis DaveSeptember 22, 2024 at 7:56 PM
No Myles Jack Foundation per https://www.guidestar.org/search - although Players Philanthropy Fund (PPF) claims there is - maybe its brand new
Sorry but this is the least of our worries at the moment 🤣 don’t feel comfortable when the funds go don’t buy a ticket. Problem solved or even better email the office.
DeleteWill be there soon with paper bag masks.
ReplyDelete😆
DeleteAre any of the last volley of anonymous comments actually written by Memphis Dave?
ReplyDeleteThe one referencing Sep blog post was me and last I checked I wasn’t Memphis Dave. I just recall the blog posts a few months ago.
Deletelol...good question. I saw one guy ask a valid question and some other dude go off on him... I hope they post when and where the "fisticuffs" will be... center ice would work!
DeleteI got engaged at center ice in 2017 - won't make another mistake there again - LOL! OP was cool and I'm cool - recent Anonymous - you going to be his Huckleberry? Too Funny!!!
DeleteThe conversation deteriorates quickly ….
ReplyDeleteLike the team and fan base
DeleteYeah that happens when BJ makes a bad trade and the team sucks and is losing…
DeleteThey destroyed something that was so great and wonderful - for what - makes no sense at all - of course we are angry and emotional - how can we not be?
DeleteIdea… we need to get those inflatable balls that people stand in and have arguing fans face off on the ice in between periods. Settle it all on the ice and let it go. Allen charges to have them challenge. It’s a win win.
ReplyDeleteThumbs up to that idea!
DeleteHell Yes!!! Great Idea - I got Tissue Boy first round!
Delete😁 the place will be a sellout!
DeleteYou should write a book. “How to raise money for your failing hockey club”!
DeleteWith Barry being away, I suspect we will set an all time record for comments again. Reminding those chirping from the cheap seats that you will need to scroll for more comments above 200 😁
ReplyDeleteFunny how Adirondack is so excited that’s it’s a great trade. Their coach is smart, it’s a win for them!
ReplyDeleteYep - and we got a guy with a lifetime +/- at -80 - he will fit in right away.
DeleteDid Brodz want out or did BJ just get fleeced again?
DeleteIs BJ or Joe Ernst making the trades?
DeleteTraded away most of last season’s guys.
Orzeck is next.
Hardie already got yelled at the other game.
Gags watch out.
Ok I was watching football today and just read that we traded Brodzinski; wtf!!!! We just go from bad to worse (and not much lower we can go)!
ReplyDeleteThe season isn't over yet...just wait.
Delete😆
DeleteThe only thing that could fix this is game fixing. 🤣
ReplyDeleteNeed to keep it positive … Easton went to a decent club with an amazing NHL affiliate. Happy to see him move on. The commitment to being awful in Allen is legitimate.
ReplyDeleteObviously Easton was a cost cutting move. Expect them to go cheap at this point.
ReplyDeletenope. most all get the same dollars.
DeleteThe weekly salary cap for 2024-25 is $15,130 per week for the first 30 days of the season and $14,600 per week for the balance of the season. The weekly salary floor is $11,100.
DeleteTeams are required in 2024-25 to pay rookie players a minimum salary of $530 per week and returning players a minimum salary of $575 per week. A returning player is classified as a player who appeared on a team’s season-ending or playoff roster or who has played in 25 or more professional hockey games.
The NHL/AHL affiliate payment for 2024-25 is $525 per week. Any affiliate amount other than $525 per week agreed upon with any NHL/AHL club will be considered a salary cap violation. This includes excess payments for equipment, travel, etc.
I posted the 1st message. This just tells me how incompetent this management is.
DeleteThis is good info. Thank you to who posted it.
DeleteNo probs. Good info here: https://echl.com/about/faq
DeleteEaston did NOT ask for a trade
DeleteIt was not cost cutting
The trade was for nothing, just wait until you see the next transaction.
Smh
Asuchak
DeleteQuestion - can you expand on the affiliate payment? Is that a flat fee? Based on loans, etc?
ReplyDeleteThis got buried earlier but is really important.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.teamworkonline.com/arenas-facilities-jobs/rev-sports-management/rev-sports-management-jobs/general-manager-echl-expansion-franchise-2098273
its for their expansion team in New Mexico they own and are approved for. It hasn't been announced yet but has been confirmed a few places.
DeleteDoes expansion mean that a team will have to fold (move)? I see a Greenville one as well.
DeleteI don't believe so. The goal is AHL/NHL alignment for the same teams so everyone has an affiliate and development structure.
DeleteJust go watch Major League...the same thing is happening here. Only difference is Tommy ain't no Harry Doyle.
ReplyDeleteIs Tommy making the road trip?
DeleteI think I could make a trade better than bj
ReplyDeleteTrading sports cards as a kid had more of a thought process 🤯
DeleteWake up Myles. Please wake up.
ReplyDeleteThis team is being destroyed.
Who’s making these decisions? BJ or is Joe Ernst influencing?
This is a train wreck.
The amount of money they will lose in sponsorships and tickets will be far greater than if they just paid out BJ’s contract.
ReplyDeleteBut the constant problem in this is Joe Ernst. The great Joe running hockey ops with his yes man BJ.
Zawyer Consulting can still be paid (to stay away). Joe Ernst has messed enough things up. He needs to be removed from anything to do with the club.
DeletePlain and simple.
If that can’t be done, let everyone know. I’ll deploy my money elsewhere, and so will about 1000 others, leaving the STH base sub 750, which will be catastrophic.
Joe has a 5 year contract just fyi
DeleteAs has been posted previously there are several options:
Delete1. Negotiate an out with Zawyer ... whatever that looks like, 25 cents, 50 cents, 75 cents on the remaining contract dollars.
2. Litigate and challenge Zawyer and Ernst as to gross incompetency, heck there are hundreds of fans that will gladly be deposed....
3. Pay Zawyer, immediately remove Ernst from any contact with the club and move on, noting that bonehead decisions have resulted in this situation.
Perhaps the distributions (if received) from the Jack's other ECHL/Zawyer teams will offset the outlay.
Just needs decisions to be made.
Maybe Myles doesn't want to disrupt the apple cart, being one of the "investors" Zawyers seems to have sold a bill of goods to.
DeleteDoes anyone know if there was a call option whereby Zawyer acquired the Americans and immediately flipped it for a profit to Myles/LJ pursuant to the ECHL sale approval?
Seems Myles and LJ have been fleeced.
This last comment makes sense.
DeleteSo many have said ownership/management read these comments. So their silence and failure to act is starting to sound like a big F you to the people who buy the tickets, especially the season tickets. Maybe they want to get rid of the old fans the same way they have been getting rid of the rest of the traditions?
ReplyDeleteLooks that way.
DeleteTime kills deals.
Time costs money.
Delays will only add to the problems.
Red Kingdom should be back next home game. 😁
Red Kingdom coming back at the next home game would make for great “proof of life” that owners read this blog a small start to righting the ship (but bigger moves need to come quickly).
DeleteOdds on the next trade?

The kids want to go to a game, so do the parents.
C'mon Allen. Another pretty obvious fumble.

We have no one for the month of December at a +/- greater than ZERO.
Woeful BJ, Woeful.
Someone needs to rip into BJ. Try team building it will show on the ice., any cos h would know that except this one. Way out of his league and needs to go.
DeleteAt the Stars game and Merilainen is the starting goalie for Ottawa. Great to see for him.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that... Hopefully it ends early
DeleteGreat to see a former American in the NHL.
Delete??
ReplyDelete?? - Great NEW post - do you need help?
DeleteMessage for Tommy.
ReplyDeletePlease listen to the first 20 minutes of the Flo replay of the Idaho NYE game.
The interview with BJ is horrendous. You can barely hear him.
Not only that, you're competing with other auto over the feed.
Surely we can get this figured out.
Hopefully this comment fixes this for the balance of the season.
I go to the games, and like to watch the games later on Flo (yeah, not sure why this season).
You’ll be better listening to the other teams broadcast. They are more knowledgeable anyways. They actually call the gane.
DeleteBrod is NOT going over seas…the lucky team will be announced soon
ReplyDeleteIs this why he was suspended by Adirondack?
DeleteYes
DeleteRapid City.
DeleteWill hand it to us late Jan.
Go Costy.
…. go red also, although that’s a losing scenario right now.
Oh absolutely!! 💯
DeleteCostello and Pete MacArthur are good friends. I have no doubt BJ got fleeced here. Costy wants Brodz, pushed Pete to do a deal, BJ thinks it’s a win because he removes the -29 +\- from the roster, and gets someone averaging less.
DeletePete then trades Brodz to Rapid City for someone.
You scratch mine, I scratch yours.
BJ is still spinning thinking he got a win.
Now Costy, Brodz and Smedsrud will come to Allen end of Jan and hammer us. We will of course go to Rapid City prior and probably lose those 2 games also.
Wake up Myles.
I’d be besides myself right now if I were ownership reading all of these comments.
DeleteNeaton signed to KC.
ReplyDelete🙄
Another great result from BJ.
Marco overseas.
Neaton to #1 team in the division.
😡
Score predictions :
ReplyDelete6-2
5-1 KC.
DeleteSOG 1.7 x (they just throw the puck at the net)
After tonight:
Delete11th game in the books for 18 Game Challenge
Last game: Tonights loss to KC
Next game: At Kansas City Saturday night
Record: 1-9-1-0
Point Percentage: .136 (Beyond Abysmal)
Sorry - too depressing to even predict a single game score at this point - what a downfall of a once mighty and proud team. Like it has been said so many times on here before - this did NOT have to happen.
Delete6-2
ReplyDeleteSo this great proven player they didn't get. Instead they ended up with another of BJs type of players. Few points, no experience. Great job again BJ!!!
ReplyDeleteYep he’s a smart one
DeleteIf no one has listen, observed, witnessed or heard about the train wreck from end of May, or assessed BJ's or the clubs performance on any set of metrics such as results of games or trades made since the season started and the quantifiable success those trades created (or didn't), or had your head in the sand to not care .... then one should surely (looking at you LJ and Myles) judge the team and the success of BJ and Ferguson on the 18 game challenge as Barry has correctly called it.
ReplyDelete0.136 after a loss tonight, and 0.125 if we lose tomorrow is the measurement by which the team should absolutely effect immediate change.
BJ was fired for a record halfway into Erie's season (remember he was trying to get through his first season) that was 0.385 (0.400 over 2 half seasons). When fired BJ had Erie last in the Midwest Division with a record of 12-20-0-3 (27pts) - 35 games ....
Allen today is 8-16-5-0 and 21 pts - 29 games
Allen is staring directly at 2 more losses against KC.
Myles Jack and LaSonjia Jack, please understand us Allen fans are passionate, want to win, want you to own the team for a long time, make money doing so, celebrate Kelly Cups ... but for gods sake, what is occurring now, and the decisions, the errors, the slow reaction time to fix things is taking its toll.
You need to move mountains to hire the right next coach.
You have Costellos number and you have Martinson's.
That's a start.
Oh, and if you haven't read the other comments, you need to separate from Zawyer and Joe Ernst ASAP. They add zero value to the organization. Empower Mydra.
Thanks for listening.
Forgot to add:
DeleteWe have the WORST home record in the entire ECHL.
Want to sell tickets instead of giving them away?
Win at home. That's a start.
We are the Allen Americans - wear red.
Why on gods earth are we wearing Blue TEXAS jerseys?
We are emploring you to fix this mess, and bring back Red Kingdom ASAP.
All of this ^^^^^^^^^
DeleteThis x 1000 ^^^^
DeleteOpen the checkbook for Martinson. Proven winner everywhere he goes. Period. Coaching matters. Maybe we’ve traded away or blew off solid players but the right coach can win more with this team and would also get better players where gaps need to either be filled or replaced.
Was not always the biggest fan of Costello but he was a great player and clearly had better coaching instincts than BJ. He at least learned from his mistakes as any coach early in his coaching career does. Every coach makes a mistake. Coaches who are leaders admit their mistakes, grow and do better over half a season.
Fans want a winning team, as I’m sure you (owners) do. It’s not working with BJ and it’s ok to admit that. Who cares if we’re right as long as The Americans win. THAT is the goal.
Incoming “y’all don’t get it smh” message
DeleteMarty would NEVER come here lol
DeleteThe OP gets it. Agree 100%
DeleteShould have actually looked at his resume… boom that problem would have been solved. Fired coach, sounds like a great hire…smh
ReplyDelete100 sabotage by Joe Ernst!!!!! Absolutely done on purpose too. Look at Tahoe, look at Allen both Zawyer ran….hmmm it’s blatantly obvious.
Blue Texas jersey again…. 🙄
ReplyDeleteNot even like last season. These are cheap and not AK.
DeleteShould be wearing black jerseys …. The closest to a lump of coal.
DeleteTommy quit trying to sell the new guy, he’s nothing like Brod. New guy had 3 goals in 26 games. There’s a reason Adirondack dropped him before they added him back to trade. Duh. Only you would try to sell giving up our lead goal scorer.
ReplyDeleteYep 🎯
DeleteIf he lands at Rapid City, it’s Costello showing what he can do. Blind trade with Adirondack yet Chad was behind this all along.
DeleteOther option is he lands with his brother in Greenville.
BJ was idiotic with trading him, so heck yea I hope Chad grabs him!! Thats what a smart coach would do!
DeleteOk I was a give BJ a chance guy at the start of the season, but if it’s true that he berates the players then he needs to go. He’s a never was that is bitter and trying to f up others opportunities. I hope someone in the room has it with him and cleanse his clock.
ReplyDelete😁👍🏻💪🏻🤞🏻👀🙈🍿
DeleteOh it’s true. Glad you can see his true colors now.
DeleteWatching the game on Flo.
ReplyDeleteHere’s an idea Allen.
KC has a “racing theme night”.
Because we partner with REV who is also running the Arlington IndyCar race around Cowboy and Rangers Stadiums in 2026 we should do an IndyCar or racing theme night and have some IndyCar racers at the game.
Heck, have them in the commentary box with Tommy and Mo and get the fun going.
Get an IndyCar on the ice and do some slow donuts 😆🏎️
Marketing folks.
Bums in seats.
Give free tickets to the IndyCar race.
Have the drivers in the stands.
Prob need a new coach also based on the messages and stats here.
Good idea! Free marketing for Americans. Bet they never do this. That would take effort.
DeleteThey should listen to fans and do this. Would be great, for adults and kids.
DeleteBorchardt's goal shows what a dismal team we have. Only going to get worse kiddies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a complete joke of a display that just happened - like they were just toying with us! How embarrassing...
DeleteSOG 1.8 x
DeleteHowever they are just throwing the puck at the net 🙄
SOG don’t matter- says our fabulous coach. What a joke he is
DeleteCan we please get owners who actually know something about hockey? And can we get someone who made money in actual business?!
ReplyDeleteI’ll just take a coach that knows what he’s doing for starters. Easier task.
DeleteCan we take it in turns and coach?
DeleteI mean surely we can collectively get a 0.150 ratio just by showing up right? 😆
It's just beyond pathetic now - nothing more to say
DeleteMaurice must be blowing up Tommy's phone at this point.
DeleteDown 5-2.
I think I missed when the Jacks owned a pro HOCKEY team and knew what they were doing. No doubt a “be glad you gone” message coming.
DeleteThey didn't, but LJ ran an AT&T store. Surely that counts right?
DeleteYou talking about Mama Shark Tank?
DeleteNo business sense. Mom of a guy who played football. In DFW, doesn’t work with all of the actual business talent here.
DeleteKC announcer is good
ReplyDeleteKC Flo Game Presentation is great!
DeleteThey are amazing!!!
DeleteWe get guy who needs to wash, let alone announce.
DeleteBJ still setting records! Let’s go! So glad our trade came in handy tonight… oh wait my bad.
ReplyDeleteBJ messed up but Polino didn't play bad:
DeleteLW 89 P. Polino. 0 2 +1 4 0
Took more SOG than any other Americans player!
DeleteThe LJ Way
DeleteOne of only 4 Americans with a +1
DeleteYou’re right, sorry just hate the coach that much.
DeleteWe are all over BJ and the lack of accountability that exists.
DeleteMyles appears to not care. LJ has gone silent.
Welcome to the shitshow you created ownership.
Costello Karma is a bitch.
Max Andreev is amazing! Remember when we had players like this??? Unless you're living in a memory care unit sure you do - was last year.
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the prior comparison idiots? Gone like the idiots they were.
This is it people - enjoy!
Tissue Boy left the building… 🤣🤡
Delete** Housekeeping Note **
ReplyDeleteOver 200 comments and you'll need to scroll to see the most recent.
Fire BJ.
Wake up Myles. This is unacceptable. A great hockey club is being destroyed. You lied to Costello - why? just why? None of this was necessary. You told him you had his back. Then you listened to Ernst and collectively you had Sykes-Gilbert fire him. You didn't have the balls to do it. You can't be trusted. That's the message going around.
You deserve the mess you've helped create.
The more games this guy coaches the more it’s making Joe/Zawyer look like morons. It’s so bad, what is worse then morons?
ReplyDelete"idiot" is generally considered worse than "moron" as it refers to a more severe level of intellectual disability
Delete3 points away from last place in the entire league. You can do it BJ. Keep reaching for the prize!!! We have faith in you. We know you can be the worst of the worst!!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Allen to 8th place. Unfortunately I believe they will stay there l.
ReplyDeleteKC broadcasting is so much better than Allen. And they don’t slur their words like our guy.
