Thoughts, Rumors & Social Media Activity:
- An interesting part of the roster list above is that numbers have been assigned to the players. I know numbers are assigned by seniority so these may be subject to change as the roster fills out. Here is my take on the numbers. Tetrault who was a big Chris Chelios fan growing up took #7 because Chelios had that number in Chicago. Tetrault has worn #7 in the past. Phil Fox who also likes #7 then took #11 as that was his number in college (Northern Michigan University), John Snowden has been wearing #43 so he was able to get that number and Alex Lavoie picked #91 as the reverse of the #19 he wore in juniors.
- Notice the list above does not include Chris Doyle. While his agent has reported he had signed a contract this signing has never been announced by the Americans. Not sure if there is a hold up in getting everything signed and approved or everything is approved and it hasn't been announced or there has been a change of plans by the Americans or Chris. We will just have to wait and see on this one.
- Yesterday Jamie Schaafsma shared he was heading to Allen for a couple of days but did not indicate why. Maybe there will be a surprise this week.
- Also saw on social media a rumor that Adam Pineault may be playing for the Coventry Blaze of the EIHL. Coventry is the same team Brian McMillin has already signed with for the 2013-2014 season.
UPDATE: I traded messages with Monique Pineault and she assured me this rumor is not true. Adam will not be playing in England or anywhere in Europe this season. He has not been in contact with any European teams and has no interest in playing overseas. He 100% will play in the US and has been talking to a few teams including Allen. He has been training really hard both in the gym and also on the beach (he has a trainer for both) and just completed a hockey camp for kids 8-13 in the Daytona area. I hope Adam does not return to Allen because he finds a home in the AHL. If that doesn't happen it would be great to have him back with the Americans.
