Alex Lavoie Signs With Florida Everblades - The Press Release
ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Friday that the team has agreed to terms with center Alexandre Lavoie for the 2014-15 season.
Lavoie, 21, joins the Everblades after posting 76 points (25g, 51a) in the 60 regular season game with the Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League last season. In addition, he helped lead Allen to a President’s Cup Championship last spring registering seven points in 15 playoff appearances. Lavoie also scored one goal in seven games played with the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.
“Alex is a guy that won a title in the Central Hockey League in his first professional season, and also spent some time in the AHL,” said Everblades Head Coach Greg Poss. “He is a skilled play-making center, who we look forward to seeing excel in his second year.”
Lavoie spent the majority his junior career playing for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. The 5-10, 170-pound center posted 115 regular season points (47g, 68a), and six playoff points (3g, 3a) during his time with Chicoutimi between 2008-2012.
Lavoie played for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL during the 2011-12 season and the beginning of the 2012-13 season, totaling 82 points (34g, 48a) in the regular season. Lavoie spent the latter part of the 2012-13 season playing for the Rimouski Oceanic of the QMJHL where he played in 26 games and posted 47 points (17g, 30a).
